Scooter hit by car; Penticton RCMP looking for witnesses

The Penticton RCMP are looking for suspects, after a person riding a mobility scooter was struck in a crosswalk in the City on Thursday.

Corporal Don Wrigglesworth with the RCMP says, it happened on Green Avenue West near Wal-Mart around 4:45 pm.

The scooter was hit in the front wheel, which was broken off.

It eventually had to be removed by a tow truck.

RCMP say the suspect car is grey, possibly a hatch-back.

It was last seen turning near the 7-11 store, possibly into a back alley.

It never returned.

The RCMP say the operator of the scooter was not injured, but has physical limitations.
