Search Warrant Executed – take down of Penticton residence
Officers with Penticton’s newly formed “Street Enforcement Unit” (SEU), execute search warrant on Penticton address. Large amounts of street drugs and weapons seized.
On July 5th, 2019, Officers with Penticton’s “Street Enforcement Unit” (SEU), along with units from the Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU), General Duty, and the Police Dog Service, executed a search warrant on a Dynes Avenue residence in Penticton, BC.
The SEU conducted a two week long investigation into illegal drug activity at the residence, frequented by people known to Police. As a result of the investigation, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant was issued allowing Officers to enter the residence.
As a result, located inside the heavily fortified residence, was a large amount of both Cocaine and Fentanyl. Additionally, several prohibited weapons were seized, including a Taser, brass knuckles and various types of ammunition.
Two men and a female face numerous charges.
“This was great work done by our Street Enforcement Unit (SEU) with the assistance from several other members. Seizures of this quantity will have a definite impact and availability of these drugs at the street level. The SEU will continue to perform drug enforcement in the South Okanagan as there is no doubt drug trafficking is a main driver of peripheral crime in Penticton including theft of property”, explains S/Sgt. Bob Vatamaniuck.
