Volunteer Awards Dinner to be held in Penticton
The South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Center is hosting an awards dinner, aimed at recognizing volunteers, in April.
Kim Kirkham is with the center, and says It's called the Pillar Community Innovation Awards, and it will be held on April 22nd, to help kick off National Volunteer week.
"It's been a long time since anyone has done an awards recognition night for volunteers, so we're really happy to be doing this," says Kirkham. "It's an opportunity for us to recognize those in the community that give back, as well as celebrating their successes."
Kirkham says they'll be accepting open nominations in seven different categories, including Volunteer of the Year, and Youth of the Year. Those nominations will be open from February 13th to March 31st, and the center is encouraging everyone to nominate someone they feel deserves recognition.
