Wildfire north of Oliver continues to grow
Tension is building as the Eagle Bluff Wildfire buring out of control north of Oliver contionues to grow larger.
It's now 1,250 hectares in size as of Thursday morning...and billowing smoke can been seen from all directions.
Fire crews were on site battling the fire through the night.
That evacuation alert issued early Monday morning by the Regional District for 206 properties...along with the Senkulman Business Park.. has been widened to 41 additional properties in the McKinney Creek area.
Okanagan Correctional Centre has relocated more than 100 inmates due to the Eagle Bluff wildfire.
Bonnett says the speed limit along Highway 97 through the fire zone has been reduced to 50 kilometers per hour.
The good news,...at least from a wildfire standpoint...rain in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday with cooler temepratures.
