Salmon Arm Art Gallery is pleased to present Kids These Days, an open exhibition for artists aged 15 to 24 featuring all forms of exciting media, opening on Friday, March 1 at 7pm with live music and refreshments. The exhibition runs March 2 to April 6, 2019, and is generously sponsored by Roots and Blues, Lois Higgins, Don Derby and Cindy Derkaz. This bi-annual exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to see into the minds of young artists. Over 100 works in painting, drawing, digital/audio, sculpture and installation are featured. Young people have a different outlook on the world, and a unique perspective on current affairs. This exhibition is a gift to the wider community, helping us relate to each other using the language of visual art. “We continue to enjoy enthusiastic participation from high school students, and it’s also exciting that college and university students will connect back to Salmon Arm by submitting artwork for this show.” - TK Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm. Family Saturdays runs each Saturday 11am to 3pm, an open drop-in art-making time for families with children aged 2 to 12. The Coffee Break and Artist Talk is on Thursday, March 21 from 2pm to 4pm, a time to enjoy locally-roasted organic coffee and fresh baked cookies while discussing the works with some of the exhibiting artists.
