Census Shows Growth In Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, And Golden

A portion of data from the 2016 Census has been released, and it shows growth over the past five years in Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, and Golden.

Salmon Arm's population is up 1.4%, or 242 people.

Revelstoke's population is up 5.7%, or 408 people.

Golden's population is up only .2%, accounting for just 7 people.

The CSRD as a whole now has a population of 51,366 people, up 1.7% from 2011.

Local areas that saw population decreases include the Village of Chase, which is down 8.4%, and the District of Sicamous, which is down .5%.

B.C as a whole saw its population climb by 5.6% over five years, for a total of 4.6M people.

Canada's population rose 5%, and now sits at 35.15M people.
