Citizen Tips Leads To Highway One Theft Bust
A bust for Sicamous, Salmon Arm, and Revelstoke RCMP on Thursday.
Police were called around 4am about a suspicious vehicle along Highway One in Malakwa.
The caller told Police that a van was hauling a large commercial generator on a trailer.
Sicamous RCMP called for support, and two suspects were boxed-in and arrested without incident.
The generator - worth $40,000 - was found to have been stolen from Parks Canada in Kootenay National Park.
A 35 year old man and 48 year old woman from Maple Ridge were each charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
They are due in court in March.
