Council Votes To Revisit Local Traffic Study
Salmon Arm's City Council has voted to revisit and review a 2013 study on local Highway One traffic.
Mayor Nancy Cooper says the decision was made after consultation with the Ministry of Transportation, and ICBC "We're going to bring that report back, and we're going to be asking everybody for input; the Downtown Association, the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, the RCMP, trucking companies, and all of the public as well. We're going to have a public Open House so people can come in and see what the proposals are for changes to the Trans-Canada here to make it safer - because that's what we're all very concerned about."
The Mayor says that no date has yet been finalized for that Open House.
She also notes that the past four years have seen both ICBC and the Ministry of Transportation change some of the things that they might allow.
Cooper says that Open House details will be released following further talks with and ICBC and the Transportation Ministry.
