CP Reports No Major Issues Following Mudslide Near Sicamous

Canadian Pacific has detailed an early morning incident that saw a mudslide cover its tracks near Sicamous.

A CP spokesperson says that it was around 5AM when an Eastbound mixed freight train came upon the mudslide in an area about 8km's West of Sicamous.

An emergency stop was initiated, but the train did enter the slide area.

CP says that the train did not derail, no product was released, and no one was injured.

A Thursday email says that a geotechnical analysis to be done from a helicopter, and that the plan was to re-open that line by this afternoon.
