CSISS Asks For Local Help In Stopping Mussels

The incoming long weekend has brought a request from the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society.

Coordinator Sue Davies is asking locals to speak with anyone who may be bringing a boat to B.C, this weekend "We're asking people with friends and relatives who are coming in to B.C, to make sure that if they are bringing a boat with them, to stop at one of the inspection stations near the border of B.C."

She says that skipping that inspection would be bad for your wallet "You go past and don't stop, and you'll immediately be charged $345, and then the funds just go on up from there."

Davies is also reminding local boaters to clean their vessels when transferring from one lake to another around B.C.
