Donations Needed At Community Connections Food Bank
The Community Connections Food Bank in Revelstoke is currently dealing with bare shelves.
A Wednesday email says that food supplies are at an all-time low.
Patti Larson says its rather normal to be in need of donations at this time of year "Typically what happens at this time of year is we run out of stock collected from the food drive last September."
She has some suggestions for ideal donations "We're looking for tuna, salmon, any of those protein items. Pastas, sauces, all kinds of beans, meals in a can, chunky soups. We always need cereal, and rice is a great staple for families.
Other suggestions include canned vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, and items for infants and children.
Donations can be dropped off at bins within Save-On-Foods and Barton Insurance.
Larson says the Food Bank provided for 169 people and 42 children just last week.
