Driver Ticketed For Crash That Closed Highway 97A

Sicamous RCMP say that a commercial vehicle driver avoided injury in a Tuesday accident on Highway 97A.

Sergeant Murray McNeil says that the Southbound semi hauling building supplies was travelling too fast when it hit a concrete barrier, causing it to land on its side.

The semi then slid down the Highway, sheering off a Hydro pole.

McNeil says it was fortunate that there was no Northbound traffic at the time.

That accident left Highway 97A closed for about five hours time, and McNeil says that driver was ticketed.
