Police say it happened around 4:30AM, in an area 20km's West of Revelstoke.
A release says that a commercial vehicle from Manitoba hauling battery acid was descending down a steep grade when the driver failed to manage a curve, causing the unit to hit a concrete barrier and flip on its side - spilling its load on the Highway.
Battery acid, and fuel from the truck spilled on the Highway, but was contained.
