Emergency Services Food Drive Coming September 12th

The 7th annual Emergency Services Food Drive is on the way in Revelstoke in under two weeks.

Patti Larson with Community Connections says the former two-night event has been dialed back to just one night - and that's Tuesday, September 12th "We're just trying to tighten up the process, and make it a bit more efficient for everyone's time. Last year we had probably 350 volunteers come out over the two nights, so we're expecting a big crowd of people coming out, and we'll be going door-to-door with lights and sirens collecting food."

As for what the Food Bank needs.. "We're always needing healthy foods, non-perishables, canned fruits and vegetables, protein, salmon, tuna, any of those things. Personal care items, bathroom tissue - we need all of those things, they are so important."

Last year's event brought in well over $4,000 in cash and over 10,000lbs of food.

Anyone willing to volunteer for this year's event should call Jenna with Community Connections at 250-837-2920.
