Enderby Workshop Destroyed In Monday Fire

A lengthy call on Monday night for Enderby's Fire Department.

Staff were called to South Enderby Boards, on Highway 97A, just after 5pm.

Fire Chief Cliff Vetter has details, saying "When we arrived on scene there was a fully engulfed structure, it had already gotten in the attic, and was coming out the gable ends."

Vetter says that the one workshop structure was destroyed "A total loss. Nothing outside the building was affected by the fire."

He also notes that our current conditions aren't exactly the best for fighting fires, saying "No injuries to firefighters. Cold weather was definitely a factor, we had issues with our packs freezing up, and then consequently with the amount of water we had to put on - the ground got pretty icy."

The cause is currently unknown.
