Food Bank Reaching Out For Summer Donations

Revelstoke's Food Bank is still about two months away from its big annual fundraiser.

Patti Larson with Community Connections says that as usual, summer means a lack of donations "We get really stretched thin during this time of year, it's just the nature of the business. Donations fall off during the summer, people are busy, they're on holidays, they're out and about, and they're not thinking neccessarily about the everyday needs of some people."

As for how you can help, Larson says "Healthy nutritious items, maybe some cereals. One of our most requested items is bathroom tissue and snacks for kids during summer - because even though they aren't in school they still need snacks."

Revelstoke's annual Community Connections Food Drive is on the way for September 17th.
