Friday Brings Close Call On Bruhn Bridge

Sicamous RCMP say that one driver was ticketed for a Friday morning accident on the Bruhn Bridge.

Police say that it was around 11:30AM when a Westbound commercial vehicle side-swiped an Eastbound commercial vehicle near the middle of the bridge, causing damage to both vehicles.

An RCMP release says that each semi lost its drivers side mirror, while the Westbound trailer was torn open.

Police say that there was no traffic problems related to the accident, and that both drivers were uninjured.

The 51 year old driver of the Westbound truck was ticketed for crossing a double-solid line.

RCMP say that a direct impact was narrowly avoided, and would have likely caused serious injuries for both drivers.
