Green Shirt Day To Honour Logan Boulet, Raise Organ Donor Awareness

Saturday marks one year since the Humboldt Broncos bus crash, and Sunday is Green Shirt Day - inspired by player Logan Boulet and the six lives he saved as an organ donor.

Elaine Yong with B.C Transplant says Sunday is about raising awareness and starting the conversation "The important thing is that if people aren't registered already - to talk about it, to think about it, to discuss with their family what their wishes are."

Yong says that registering as an organ donor is as simple as it gets "Honestly, it takes only two minutes to go online and register. The potential is there that if you're an organ donor you could save up to eight lives."

Yong tell us that up to 200,000 Canadians have registered as organ donors since last April's crash.
