Grizzlies Take KIJHL Title In Five Games - Parade Set For Saturday

The Revelstoke Grizzlies are 2018/19 KIJHL Champions.

Revelstoke downed Kimberley 4-1 in Thursday's Game 5, winning the series 4-1.

Coach Ryan Parent is, as you might expect, rather pleased "Our group is just elated. The whole City of Revelstoke I think is elated, yeah I don't even know what to say I just think I'm pretty damn happy and our group is as well."

A parade is now planned for Saturday the 6th, starting at Revelstoke's RCMP Detachment for Noon.

Parent notes that plenty of thanks is due for their supporters "The whole City of Revelstoke should be pretty proud. The support that we get here is phenomenal - our sponsors, billets, booster club, right to the City - it's the ultimate support."

His team now heads to Campbell River for the Cyclone Taylor Cup starting Thursday.

Parent says that the team will take a few days to enjoy their win, but that quick work will be needed to study their upcoming opponents "With video nowadays obviously we'll crunch that and make sure we're prepared. I think they're thinking the same thing, I mean they've been sitting out there kind of waiting for us to finish but I think they'll obviously be prepared and ready and we'll have to do the same thing."

Campbell River, North Van, and Victoria are the other three teams.

Revelstoke went 16-3 over the KIJHL post-season, outscoring their opposition 75-33.
