Highway One Bus Service Falling Short Of Original Hopes

The bus company handling Highway One stops in our region has dialled back its service for the time being.

Rider Express Transportation says that it's currently only running once a week between Calgary and Vancouver and Vancouver and Calgary.

That means users in Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, and Golden can only head to Vancouver on Friday mornings, and to Calgary during the early morning hours of Saturday.

Rider Express started its operations in our region in early November, with plans for one service a day between Calgary and Vancouver and back.

Their website states low ridership as the reason for the reduction, with more service options coming once usage picks up.

Many users have reported complaints with simply trying to contact the company, or book a ticket.
