Highway One Closure Could Last Two Days
There's still no definitive word on when the Trans-Canada Highway will reopen, following a Thursday night washout of the Highway in an area 25km's West of Revelstoke.
Debris blocked a channel on Camp Creek, sending water and material over the Highway.
The Highway has been closed since 11PM Thursday, and an update from the Transportation Ministry says that traffic may be able to begin moving Saturday, unless the bridge has been damaged.
A Friday email says that the Galena Bay to Shelter Bay Ferry will run 24 hours a day until the Highway is ready.
Anyone planning on taking the Ferry should expect delays.
