June To Bring Fire Management Work At Mount Revelstoke
It's a busy time within Mount Revelstoke National Park, as crews work to clear excess trees and brush.
Parks Canada's Shelley Bird says that June will be an active month within the Park "We're doing some fuel reduction right now. We have some Parks Canada fire crews as well as B.C Wildfire Service crews in the Park, doing some brushing and clearing."
She notes that locals may see smoke coming from the area between Inspiration Woods and the Revelstoke Lookout during the month of June "If we get the right weather and burning conditions, they will do some brush-pile burning."
Bird says that any burning will be contigent on good venting conditions for smoke.
