Lighthouse Shelter Doors Open For Another Winter
Salmon Arm's Salvation Army Lighthouse Shelter opened for the season today.
Spokesperson David Byers has word on their spaces for this Winter, saying "We have sixteen spaces, twelve for men and four for women - but we do have a couple of extra cots, a couch, and another bed that we can use."
He says that any food and clothing donations are welcome, as its that time of year "Canned fish, canned meats of any kind, pork and beans, that kind of stuff. Ready to eat, easy open cans that we can send with them in the morning because protein helps keep you warm."
Byers says that more people than ever are using their Food Bank, and encourages donations ahead of the Holidays.
