Local Cops To Increase Downtown Highway Patrols
Salmon Arm's City Council got a visit from local RCMP Staff Sergeant Scott West on Tuesday.
Mayor Nancy Cooper says that our Police appear to be listening to concerns about dangerous drivers in the Downtown "They're going to be doing a lot more patrolling on the Trans-Canada Highway, especially through the Downtown corridor. They said that it's going to be like they're blitzing it, and that anybody running red lights is going to get it."
The Mayor began asking residents for details on commercial vehicles who run red lights in the Downtown after a recent protest.
The fine for running a red in B.C is $167 and two demerit points.
