New Superintendent For SD83 As Glenn Borthistle Departs

North Okanagan-Shuswap School District 83 has hired a new Superintendent, one day after Glenn Borthistle announced that he would be stepping away from the position after 23 years on the job.

Borthistle says that he and his wife are looking for new opportunities, and that he plans on continuing his career as an educator "This District has been absolutely fantastic to me, and it's a difficult decision to reach, but at this point in our lives we feel good about looking outside, and taking on some new adventures."

He says he plans on continuing his career as an educator, and notes that his last day is likely the 31st of July.

SD83 announced on Tuesday that the current Director of Instruction for School District 48, Sea to Sky, Peter Jory will be taking over the role of Superintendent, as of this August.

A full statement on Borthistle's departure from the District is available on the SD83 website, at this link.
