No Charges Laid After Motorist Hits Cyclist In Crosswalk

Revelstoke RCMP say that no charges were laid following a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist from Friday.

Police say that an Ontario man in a Honda sedan was turning left onto 4th Street from Townley Street when he struck a cyclist in the crosswalk around 3:15PM.

The male cyclist, from Revelstoke, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cyclist was wearing a helmet and high-vis vest, while the driver told Police that his view had been obstructed.

Drugs and alcohol are not said to be factors.

Police say that the injuries to the cyclist could have been far worse if he had not been wearing a helmet.
