'Off The Beat Pub' Damaged By Morning Fire

Salmon Arm's Fire Department says that no one was injured in a morning fire at a local pub.

Crews were called to the 'Off The Beat Pub' around 9:20 this morning on a report of a commercial structure fire.

Fire Chief Brad Shirley says that his staff were on that scene for about two hours "Crews did locate a fire in the back of the building, it was in close proximity to a hot-water tank. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the structure vented. We did contain the fire to one small area of the building, with significant fire damage, and some smoke damage throughout."

Shirley says the fire was discovered by an employee who came in to open the business for the day.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
