Parks Canada Staff Still Responding To Active Campfires
Parks Canada is looking to remind the public that campfires are banned in our National Parks.
Spokesperson Shelley Bird believes that some people just aren't getting the message, saying "We've had to respond to some illegal campfires in day-use areas or campgrounds in Glacier National Park."
Their ban covers all wood and briquette fires.
Gas-fueled stoves are still allowed.
This fire ban covers not only Mount Revelstoke and Glacier, but also Yoho, Kootenay, and Banff National Parks.
You can report campfires or smoke within our National Parks by calling 877-852-3100.
