Penticton Man Arrested For Monday Boat Theft In Sicamous


Don't leave the keys to your boat in the ignition - a message from RCMP in Sicamous.

Police say that an $80,000 power-boat was stolen from the Sicamous Channel on Monday night.

Sergeant Murray McNeil tells us that the thief was talked back to shore "The owner saw the man driving away in it, and called his friend who happened to out in Shuswap Lake in his own boat. The friend saw the stolen boat being driven in circles near the Sicamous Beach, and confronted the thief and told him to bring the boat back to shore."

McNeil says that the 33 year old male listened, and was then arrested "He was met by waiting RCMP officers on the dock, and arrested for theft over $5,000."

He's is due in court in early August.
