Precautions Urged As Rash Of Vehicle Thefts Hits Sicamous

RCMP in Sicamous say that four vehicles have been stolen in under two weeks in their area, and are using those cases as a reminder to locals to lock their vehicles.

A 2016 Nissan Juke went missing on June 28th from a home on Highway 97A, and was later found in Kelowna.

Friday saw the theft of a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser from an auto repair shop, it has the Alberta plate E-K-U 8-4-4, and has not been found as of yet.

Monday saw a Volkswagen Tiguan dissapear from a home on Highway 97A, and it was also found in Kelowna.

The latest theft happened on Tuesday morning, with a 2008 F150 going missing from Swansea Point.

That truck has the Alberta plate B-R-S 5-6-4-6.

Police say that a common theme in three of those files was unlocked vehicles with keys inside, or nearby.
