Public Hearing On Panhandling Bylaw Goes May 13th

A public hearing for Salmon Arm's proposed panhandling bylaw is on the way.

It's set for Monday, May 13th, at Council Chambers.

Mayor Alan Harrison says the City wants to hear from locals and business owners "We're really welcoming more input from the public, both from residents of Salmon Arm and retailers in the downtown area who might have feelings about it."

He tells us that plenty of people have already contacted the City, saying "We have received quite a bit of feedback, which is great - but we welcome more. Council will consider that and consider amending the bylaw, passing the bylaw, or not passing the bylaw."
