RCMP Detail Four More Weekend Search And Rescue Calls

Golden RCMP have provided more details on a busy weekend for local Search and Rescue staff.

A Monday release says that Golden and District Search and Rescue was called on a total of five times between Friday and Sunday, including three rescue operations.

Friday saw Search and Rescue on the hunt for a missing female, just hours before a call about an injured sledder.

The female later called Police to confirm her well-being, while the male sledder was airlifted to hospital.

The other calls included the Saturday morning rescue of an overdue snowboarder near Canyon Creek, and two other requests for help that turned up no results.

RCMP say that the male snowboarder sustained injuries related to exposure, following two nights in the bush.

Golden RCMP are again thanking local Search and Rescue for their efforts, saying " Your dedication to this community and those who visit the area does not go unnoticed."
