RCMP Investigate Explosion And Attempted Robbery At SASCU Branch
Salmon Arm RCMP are now investigating an explosion and attempted robbery at the Downtown SASCU Branch.
It all happened just before 5AM on Tuesday morning, with the ATM as the main target.
Staff Sergeant Scott West has confirmed that there was some kind of explosion, saying "Investigators believe that there was some type of explosive device, or something that was explosive in nature utilized in an attempt to defeat security associated with their ATM."
No one was hurt, and the RCMP are now busy seeking any suspects, with West saying "No cash was taken, and no one was injured - that we know of, but of course we haven't identified a suspect at this point."
West says that they are looking over surveillance footage.
The Branch is still open, but members will need to use the side entrance.
