Restaurant Fundraiser Brings In Big Money For Revelstoke Family

A weekend fundraiser for a grieving Revelstoke family has had an incredible result.

Sunday's event at Kawakubo Japanese Restuarant brought in over $15,000.

That money will go towards a family whose 15-month old daughter passed away this month in a motor vehicle incident.

Employee Sarah Peterson has details on the grand total "$12,279 in sales. We're also donating our gratuities; there was $3,650 in tips, $400 in the silent auction, and $509 in the donation jar. It brought in $16,839.50."

Meanwhile, an online fundraising page for the family has nearly hit $20,000.

Peterson says all staff who worked on Sunday were volunteering their time.
