Revelstoke's New Fire Engine Expected To Arrive Friday

The City of Revelstoke's newest Fire Engine is expected to arrive tomorrow.

The 2016 Fort Garry Fire Engine Apparatus will replace one of the local Engines that is now 31 years old.

Revelstoke fire staff will get one day of training on the new Engine, before it hits official service on Saturday.

Mayor Mark McKee is happy to hear that the new Engine is close, saying “We are proud to provide our community with a safer, more efficient fire engine that replaces a truck which served our community for literally decades."

Fire Chief Rob Girard is also looking forward to Friday's arrival, saying "The new Engine 2 allows our members to respond to fire calls in a safe and well-equipped truck for decades to come.”

The City and the Fire Department plan to show off the new Engine on Canada Day.
