Road Flare Brings Explosives Unit To Chase Cop Shop
RCMP in Chase say that the Explosive Disposal Unit was needed last week, after a man entered the detachment and placed an item on the counter that he claimed was a stick of dynamite.
Staff were removed from the office, and the item was later found to be a road flare.
An RCMP release says that the public are reminded not to bring explosives or firearms into any detachment.
The proper procedure for explosives is to call ahead so officers can attend your location, while any firearm issues are to be handled by an officer retrieving it from your vehicle.
