Search For Missing Plane Shifts To Mabel Lake Area
The search for a small plane missing since November of 2017 is set to resume, but in the Shuswap - not near Revelstoke.
Dominic Neron and Ashley Bourgeault were flying from Penticton to Edmonton when they went missing.
Lengthy searches in the mountains near Revelstoke last year failed to find the aircraft.
Tammy Neron, Dominic's sister, says additional information now has them looking at the Mabel Lake area "Once we opened it up to Mabel Lake, there were other witness reports of seeing a low flying plane and hearing a loud crash. We put those coordinates into a map, and we're focusing more on the West side of Mabel Lake."
She says that planes and helicopters have a tough time seeing through the forest canopy, meaning that they are now seeking locals willing to help out with the likes of quads, dirtbikes, drones, and on foot "Even if its for a few hours a day, or if they can help for a couple days, or a couple weeks - everything and anything is a huge asset to us."
Those willing to help out can contact Tammy at 780-405-7649.
