Seymour Arm Main FSR Open Since Late Friday

Seymour landslide

The CSRD's Seymour Arm Main Forest Service Road reopened on Friday afternoon.

It had been closed since two mudslides the previous Sunday.

Paul Blomberg with the Okanagan Shuswap Natural Resource District has word on the cleanup, saying "We had a large excavator and two dump trucks on site, initially just to remove debris and truck it away, and then improve the ditches and get the drainage back online."

Blomberg says that severe weather could force the road to close again "We need to keep our fingers crossed, given the current uncertainty in the weather conditions.

Conditions are said to be soft and wet, and a 4x4 vehicle with a high clearence is recommended.
