Sicamous' Beach Park Ready To Go For Canada Day
The District of Sicamous is ready for Canada Day festivities, despite recent high-water levels.
Mayor Terry Rysz says that Beach Park has been cleaned up and is now ready to host the fireworks show, as per usual "The Lake is receding nicely. We've got the Beach Park, where we normally hold the fireworks, it's all been looked after - we've pumped water out of the park, so that's where we're going to hold it, where we normally hold it."
He says not only are they ready for the big show, they've actually added some additional funding to it "We're also pumping another one-third more funding into the fireworks this year. As you know, Sicamous has always had awesome fireworks, and this year is going to be absolutely amazing."
He says those extra funds amount to about $10,000 additional dollars for the fireworks show.
