Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban Passes 4th Reading
The paperwork is done for Salmon Arm's ban on single-use plastic shopping bags.
Council passed the 4th reading of that bylaw on Monday.
Mayor Alan Harrison says that everything is going according to plan "I have to say that retailers have been really helpful and supportive. They have ordered their totes and reusable bags. We're going to have a six-month transition period through to January 1st. Lots of residents I've heard from are very supportive and they're getting ready."
That bylaw gets going on July 1st, and there's plenty of info on the City's website via this link.
