Stolen Vehicle Sought After Suspect Rams Cruiser

Salmon Arm RCMP say that one of their cruisers was rammed on Thursday morning.

Police say that it started with a report of two people in a suspicious vehicle around 3:20AM, and note that the vehicle was empty when they arrived on scene.

Members then noticed a male walking away from a motorcycle on 1st Avenue NE, and say that the man took off on foot when he realized he was being followed.

Moments later the cruiser was rammed by a Corvette, which then stalled before the driver took off on foot again.

A Police Dog attended the scene, but no one was found.

RCMP say that a vehicle theft in the Auto Road and 20th St SE area was reported in around 7AM, and that they believe the two incidents are related.

Local Police are now seeking a white 2006 GMC Sierra with BC plate K-W 8-8-6-3.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP immediately.
