Tuesday Fire At Scotch Creek Property Deemed Arson
A Tuesday night fire in Scotch Creek is said to be suspicious..
The CSRD's Sean Coubrough has more on the call to Hillam Road, saying "We arrived to a single-storey structure, that had smoke billowing from windows - most of the doors were boarded up and windows were screwed shut."
He says that local fire staff were already out training "Fire crews, being on scene so quickly, were able to get control of the fire and extinguish it before it spread."
Coubrough says its looks to be an arson "We definitely determined one area of orgin in a bedroom, and a further examination showed a secondary orgin on the exterior of the building - indicating that this fire was intentionally set."
The RCMP's Emergency Response Team spent Saturday near that home.
Coubrough says this file is now with Police.
Chase RCMP are worried this is an escalation between local occupants and previous residents.
Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP in Chase.
