Fundraiser to Support Northcoast Anglers

A fundraiser has been set up to support those impacted by Thursday morning's fire at North Coast Anglers.

The building that contains the Northcoast Anglers Fishing Shop was reported on fire at about 5:30 am Thursday morning - no one was inside, but nearly 100-year old building has been damaged beyond repair.

A statement on the page says that Randy and Leona Murray, the couple who owned the shop on Lakelse and Kalum for 27 years, lost many personal treasures and heirlooms when the shop went up in flames early Thursday morning. It adds that Northcoast Anglers is a seasonal business, and the fire happened just before the busy season. While insurance will help with the rebuild, it will not cover lost income - and therefore Randy and Leona have fallen on difficult times.
