The 39-year-old man, whose name hasn't been released, was among a group of people in three inflatable boats, which encountered a log jam on the river.
It is in the channel where more water is flowing since the flood on Sept/17. Approximately 1 KM west of the Nalabila Creek bridge on the highway.
The other members of the group managed to get to shore, but the Alberta man could not be found, prompting an extensive search over the weekend.
Yesterday morning at aruond 11:30, members of the Kitimat RCMP, Search and Rescue and Terrace Swift Water Rescue found the man's body.
The case has been turned over to the BC Coroner's Service.
The search was one of two over the past several days involving Terrace Search and Rescue -- the other search was for a missing Telkwa woman, whose truck was found near Gossen Creek east of Terrace late last week.
Thirty-four-year-old Chantelle Simpson remains missing.
