Evacuation Order Issued for East End of Nadina Lake

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Bulkley-Nechako Regional District for the area surrounding the Nadina Lake Fire.

The order, which was issued at 11 o'clock last night, covers the east end of Nadina Lake -- including Nadina Lake Lodge, Nadina River Spawning Channel and Nadina Lake Recreation Site.

Emergency Social Services can provide assistance for food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.

The Nadina Lake Fire, which was estimated at 380 hectares as of yesterday, was one of several fire starts reported in the Nadina fire zone after a band of lightning moved through the area over the last two days.

Another fire of note is the Verdun Mountain Fire, which is 52 hectares.

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako on August 1, 2018 at 22:30 hours.

The Evacuation Order is in effect for:

The east end of Nadina Lake including Nadina Lake Lodge, Nadina River Spawning

 

Channel and Nadina Lake Recreation Site (as shown on the attached map).

Evacuees Please:

 Any questions in regard to Emergency Social Services (ESS) please contact the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako at 250-692-3195 or Emergency Management BC at 1-800-663-3456.

 

 Emergency Social Services can provide assistance for food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHILE THIS ORDER IS IN EFFECT

 You must leave the area immediately.

 If you need transportation assistance from the area, please advise the individual providing this notice or call the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako at 250-692-3195 or Emergency Management BC at 1-800-663-3456.

 Close all windows and doors.

 Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.

 Close gates (latch) but do not lock.

 Gather your family; take a neighbour or someone who needs help.

 Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available.

    Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.

  

ALL RESIDENTS IN THE EVACUATION ORDER AREA MUST LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY
