Four Year Sentence In Connection With Fatal Smithers Stabbing

A four-year prison sentenced has been handed down in connection with a stabbing death in Smithers just over three years ago.

Twenty-three-year-old Kelly Andrew Johnson was originally charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Francis Namox, but pleaded guilty in November to manslaughter.

The sentenced was issued last week in BC Supreme Court in Smithers.

Court heard the stabbing happened during an altercation between the two men during a party in an apartment in the 15-hundred block of Main Street in Smithers in February of 2014.
