Kitimat Man Killed in Highway Crash North of Williams Lake

A 44-year-old Kitimat man has been killed in a two-vehicle collision in the Cariboo.

RCMP say the man was northbound on Highway 97, north of Williams Lake, shortly after 10 o'clock Sunday night, when his pickup truck was sideswiped by a southbound car, which had crossed the centre line.

The impact caused the truck to overturn on the highway, trapping the Kitimat man inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There's no word on the condition of the Comox man who was driving the car.

The RCMP's Cariboo-Chilcotin Regional Traffic Services division and the BC Coroners Service are investigating.
