LNG Canada Makes Surprise Donation During Canucks Alumni Fundraising Game in Kitimat

There was a surprise donation from LNG Canada, at the beginning of Saturday's fundraising hockey game between the Vancouver Canucks Alumni and the Kitimat Winterhawks Coaches.

With the memory of the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash in Saskatchewan still fresh in everyone's minds, LNG Canada Director of External Relations Susannah Pierce announced the company was donating a new 2018 Chevrolet Micro Bird G5 School Bus -- equipped with seatbelts -- to Kitimat's Mount Elizabeth School for its sports teams to use.

Mount Elizabeth principal Geraldine Lawlor says the donation couldn't have come at a better time, as the current bus was about to be retired and the prohibitive cost of a new bus was a major concern.

The game itself drew nearly two thousand people to Tamitik Arena -- raising five thousand dollars for the Snow Valley Skating Club and Kitimat Minor Hockey Association.
