Loaded Throwdown-- Freestyle Ski and Snowbaord Contest

Loaded Sports is hosting its 12th annual Loaded Throwdown event this Saturday at Shames Mountain.

The Freestyle Ski and Snowboard contest caters to all ages with various age and gender-specific categories.

Organizer Marc Page says it’s going to be an amazing time for spectators and riders as they’ve recently beefed up the snow park by adding two rails and a jump/hip.

“The riders will be judged on their line through the park. Whether they hit two features or three features—the more you hit the better, the more style you have the better. Our judges are looking for basically technicalities, style and how fast and big you go. Just put together a good run through the park without falling and you should get a higher score,” says Page.

Page says helmets are mandatory and contestants must sign a waiver in order to participate-- any contestant under 19 will also need a parent to sign.

There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners for all age and gender categories who will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of prizes of their chose. Also, contestants that didn’t place will also be awarded prizes for participating.

The event runs from noon until 4 and the contest begins at 1.
