Nechako Lakes NDP Choose Candidate

A councillor for the Nak'azdli Whut'en Nation and former school trustee will run for the NDP in the May provincial election in Nechako Lakes.

Anne Marie Sam was acclaimed by the party Wednesday.

Sam has worked with First Nations and communities impacted by natural resource development, and represented BC’s First Nations on the technical review of the province’s mining code following the Mount Polley tailings pond disaster.

The riding is currently held by Aboriginal Relations Minister John Rustad, who is running again for the Liberals.
